Field Logistics / Material Coordinator

Position Overview
Abacus Consulting Group is actively building a deployment bench for upcoming electrical utility projects in Colorado and surrounding states.
We are seeking an experienced Field Logistics / Material Coordinator to support substation and transmission line construction projects. This is a field-based position, not an office or warehouse role. The successful candidate will coordinate construction materials, operate material-handling equipment, support field crews, and help maintain safe and efficient job site operations.
This position requires a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and hands-on experience operating forklifts, SkyTrak telehandlers, and similar construction equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate deliveries, staging, and movement of construction materials and equipment.
- Operate forklifts, SkyTrak telehandlers, and other material-handling equipment safely.
- Load, unload, transport, and organize construction materials at active project sites.
- Track inventory, deliveries, and material usage.
- Support field crews by ensuring materials and equipment are available when needed.
- Inspect incoming materials and equipment for accuracy and condition.
- Maintain accurate documentation, inventory logs, and delivery records.
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, project managers, and field personnel.
- Assist with general field support and project coordination as required.
- Promote and maintain safe work practices on all job sites.
Qualifications
- Previous experience supporting utility, transmission, substation, heavy civil, or industrial construction projects.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Experience operating forklifts, SkyTrak telehandlers, and similar construction equipment required.
- Ability to safely load, unload, and transport construction materials.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in active construction environments.
- Willingness to travel for project-based assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting electrical utility construction projects.
- Experience with inventory control, material tracking, and construction documentation.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Compensation
$25.00–$40.00 per hour, depending on experience and project requirements.
