Full Job Description

Automotive Service Advisor - $85,000 to $140,000, Paid Weekly

Most shops post a pay range and hope you don't ask questions about it. Here's ours, and here's why it's real.

You earn a percentage of the gross profit you sell. No cap.

You're paid weekly, not every two weeks. You control your check, and you see the result in days.

Our top advisors are on pace for $130,000+ this year. That is not a ceiling we invented for a job ad. That is what they are actually earning.

WHY THAT NUMBER IS ACHIEVABLE HERE

An advisor's income is capped by the shop behind him. You can be the best closer in Houston and still starve in a shop with four techs and six lifts.

Here is what is behind you at J&T:

- 24 bays

- 12 technicians, and we are hiring more

- Roughly 800+ cars a month, year-round. There are no slow weeks here.

- Tekmetric and digital vehicle inspections on every car

- Professional dispatching. You are not playing traffic cop.

- A dedicated parts person. You are not on the phone hunting parts.

- A dedicated shuttle driver and dedicated delivery. You are not driving customers home or moving cars.

- Loaner vehicles. You don't lose a sale because someone needs a ride to work tomorrow.

- We pay for your Sales Fix training through Shop Fix Academy. Live coaching, script bank, call reviews. You're paid on what you sell, so we put money behind making you better at selling it.

- One Saturday a month. Advisors work in teams. You get your weekends.

At a lot of shops, the "service advisor" also sources the parts and drives the shuttle van. Not here.

You write, you sell, you take care of the customer. That is the whole job.

The work is already in the building. We need someone who can close it.

WHAT WE ARE NOT

Most advisors burn out because the shop isn't built for them to win:

- Not enough techs for the workload

- Entry-level techs assigned to advanced work

- Firefighter mode from open to close

That is not how we operate.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

A closer. Someone whose customers ask for them by name, and who knows their close ratio and their ARO without having to look them up.

This is not an entry-level advisor role. We will sharpen your skills, but the fundamentals have to already be there.

You don't need to be a technician. You do need to look at a digital inspection and understand what you are seeing:

- Engine and cooling system components

- Suspension and steering systems

- Electrical and charging systems

- Diagnostic findings

- Maintenance vs. repair recommendations

This is more than brakes and shocks. You need to understand the overall condition of a vehicle and explain it to a customer clearly enough that they trust you and say yes.

Day to day, you will be comfortable:

- Managing multiple vehicles and customers at once

- Reading DVIs and building accurate estimates

- Communicating value clearly and professionally

- Staying organized during heavy days

SCHEDULE

Monday through Saturday shop. Advisors work in teams, so you will work roughly one Saturday per month.

REQUIREMENTS

- 2+ years as an automotive service advisor or service writer

- Experience with a shop management system (Tekmetric strongly preferred)

- Valid driver's license

- Able to reliably commute to Houston, TX 77055
