Seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe System Administrator (NOMAD) to support the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT). This role is responsible for maintaining, enhancing, troubleshooting, and supporting mission-critical NOMAD applications, including Human Resources (HRI), Time Keeping System (TKS), and Human Resources Datamart (HRD). The selected candidate will also assist with modernization initiatives and ERP migration planning while ensuring continuity of business operations.
Responsibilities
- Support and maintain NOMAD-based applications.
- Analyze and understand application source code, databases, interfaces, reports, and business rules.
- Perform application enhancements, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve production issues.
- Participate in ERP migration and modernization discussions.
- Create data extracts and reports to support business and modernization requirements.
- Document technical knowledge and provide knowledge-transfer materials.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with stakeholders and technical teams.
- Perform additional duties related to the NOMAD environment as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years of recent experience with:
- NOMAD applications
- NOMAD programming
- NOMAD databases
- NOMAD online screens and windows
- NOMAD reporting
- Time-series arrays and date/time functions within NOMAD
- Minimum 2 years of experience with NOMAD in an IBM VM environment.
- Minimum 1 year of experience using FTP (File Transfer Protocol).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Pay: $179,000.00 - $198,000.00 per year
