Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fitter to join our team focused on assembling heavy steel components for mining equipment. Solid experience working with metals (primarily steel and aluminum) and an eye for detail is required. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the assembly and fitting of components, ensuring precision and adherence to quality standards, with specific experience in heavy steel plate welding.The welder/fitter will be responsible for reading/interpreting 2D drawings and constructing, repairing, and installing various products made from metals.

Responsibilities:

Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Perform fitting and assembly operations of heavy steel components according to technical guidelines.
Utilize various welding techniques (such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding) to assemble components accurately.
Experience with heavy steel plate welding and fabrication techniques.
Inspect welded joints and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
Troubleshoot issues and propose solutions prior to final welding
Collaborate with team members to optimize assembly procedures and enhance efficiency.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Welder or similar role in a manufacturing environment, preferably in heavy steel assembly for mining equipment.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
Strong knowledge of welding techniques (MIG, TIG, stick) and equipment.
Experience with heavy steel plate welding and fabrication.
Attention to detail and precision in welding work.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude towards challenges.
Commitment to safety protocols and quality standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

Vocational training or certification in fitting, welding, or a related field.
Experience with CAD generated technical drawings and fitting large structures.
