The Opportunity
Autoscribe is seeking an experienced, analytical, and hands-on Controller to lead our accounting function. This role is central to the financial integrity of our business—overseeing high-volume transaction accounting, ensuring accuracy in earnings and cost of goods sold, and strengthening the systems that support our growth.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Controller will play a key role in financial strategy, operational execution, and decision support. This is a high-impact leadership position ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving, detail-driven environment and wants to help shape the financial future of a growing organization.
What You’ll Do
Accounting Operations & Oversight

Lead all day-to-day accounting operations including AP, AR, general ledger, and payroll

Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of accounting processes
Payment Reconciliation & Transaction Integrity

Oversee reconciliation of high-volume payment flows and trust account disbursements

Ensure precise matching of incoming funds, processor settlements, and merchant payouts

Serve as a critical control point for transaction accuracy and financial integrity
Financial Reporting

Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP

Deliver clear, actionable financial insights to leadership
Internal Controls & Compliance

Partner with the Chief Compliance Officer to strengthen internal controls and fraud prevention measures

Ensure compliance with PCI-DSS, SOC 2 standards, and applicable regulations
Treasury & Cash Management

Manage cash concentration and movement from trust accounts

Oversee forecasting and liquidity planning to support operational needs
Tax & External Coordination

Act as liaison with external tax partners to ensure timely and accurate filings
Strategic Finance & Business Support

Analyze program and campaign performance, including yield and profitability

Support annual budgeting, variance analysis, and financial planning

Provide insights that guide growth and operational decision-making
Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team

Build a culture of accountability, precision, and continuous improvement
What You Bring
Education & Credentials
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
-
CPA, CMA, or CCM strongly preferred
Experience
-
8+ years of progressive accounting experience
-
4+ years in a leadership or supervisory role

Experience in fintech, payment processing, or high-volume transaction environments strongly preferred
Technical Skills

Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems

SQL or data querying experience is a plus
Knowledge

Strong command of GAAP

Familiarity with tax considerations including Section 179
