About Lux Precision Manufacturing
Lux Precision Manufacturing is a rapidly growing, AS9100D-certified precision manufacturing company located in a modern, temperature-controlled facility on Grand Canyon University’s campus in Phoenix, Arizona.
We manufacture complex, high-precision components for leading aerospace, defense, medical, semiconductor, and commercial customers. Our shop supports a high-mix manufacturing environment with challenging parts, tight tolerances, advanced equipment, and significant opportunities for professional growth.
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer with strong Mastercam expertise to develop reliable and efficient machining processes for complex milling applications.
A Unique Team Environment
At Lux, we believe strong teams build great parts. We make a genuine effort to create a workplace where people enjoy coming to work, support one another, and take pride in what they accomplish together.
We regularly host team events throughout the month, often centered around meals, celebrations, or shop gatherings that give everyone an opportunity to connect outside of the day-to-day production environment.
Our shop is fast-paced, performance-driven, and focused on accountability, but it is also highly collaborative and supportive. Team members are encouraged to share ideas, help solve problems, and contribute to the company’s continued growth.
And yes, Lux is also known for keeping plenty of donuts and snacks around for the team.

- Develop safe, efficient, and repeatable machining processes for new and existing jobs.
- Select tooling, holders, cutting parameters, toolpath strategies, and workholding methods.
- Create clear setup sheets, tooling lists, operation instructions, and supporting shop documentation.
- Use Mastercam verification and machine simulation to identify collisions, overtravel, tool interference, and process risks before programs reach the machine.
- Support first-piece prove-outs and troubleshoot programming, tooling, setup, and dimensional issues on the production floor.
- Modify programs based on prove-out results, inspection feedback, tool performance, and production requirements.
- Optimize feeds, speeds, stepovers, depths of cut, tool engagement, and machining sequences.
- Improve cycle times while maintaining part quality, process stability, and tool life.
- Review engineering drawings and apply GD&T requirements to programming and manufacturing decisions.
- Develop effective workholding and fixturing strategies for complex or multi-operation components.
- Maintain revision control and accurate program documentation.
- Assist machinists with program interpretation, process questions, and technical troubleshooting.
- Standardize programming practices, tooling strategies, and proven manufacturing methods.
- Participate in continuous-improvement, cost-reduction, and process-development initiatives.
