Carl Fischer Music is seeking a Software Engineer who will join our in-house development team. We’re looking for someone to help us accelerate our development process and build new software solutions that will improve our processes.

A little about the Development team
Based in New York City, the development team is a combination of musicians and nonmusicians with a passion for technology and development. We are the backbone of the company, our code and queries touching nearly every department. We are constantly trying to improve and modernize our technology stack and workflows to make everything run better and smoother.
Responsibilities include:
- Design and develop new features for our music publishing data and file management system, from the data structure through to the frontend
- Assist with systems integrations utilizing the Chordata api.
- Write clean, efficient, and understandable code, including proper documentation
- Research and implement new packages, technologies, and best practices to ensure long term maintainability
- Assist in some documentation and training of Chordata
- Collaborate with other departments on various projects such as creating CMS pages and data management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a full-time software engineer
- Development experience with a PHP based MVC framework, preferably Laravel.
- Development experience with a JS based application, preferably Vue.js
- Experience with MySQL and writing queries
- Experience using GIT as version control system
- Experience using RESTful APIs (experience building APIs is also great!)
- Ability to work efficiently and independently
- Ability to effectively apply critical thinking to difficult problems
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with Docker
- Experience with, Elasticsearch, Solr, or any other search engine technology
- Experience with Magento
- Familiarity with CI/CD
Compensation will depend upon prior experience. Excellent benefits package offered after 3 months of full-time employment.
