The Web Guys seeks a full-time Junior WordPress Developer to join our growing marketing firm. If you are an experienced WP developer with strategic business know-how and creative marketing abilities looking to be a part of an evolving digital marketing agency, this is the position for you! The preferred candidate has a bachelor’s degree and experience building WordPress websites.
As a WordPress Developer, you’ll update existing client websites and build websites for new clients. A disciplined, conscientious, hands-on approach is central to this role with an emphasis on marketing and strategic thinking.
- Provide user-centered design expertise from concept to delivery to reporting and analysis.
- Envision and develop intuitive front-end digital Web designs with consideration of type, images, animations, color, and placement.
- Design websites & web pages that are informative and sales/marketing focused to convert traffic into leads.
- Develop creative graphics, designs & web pages based on client direction.
- Evaluate email campaigns to ensure proper rendering across all desktop/mobile devices.
- Understand client strategic marketing goals and apply them to a site design and UX, following guidance from a Project Coordinator or Graphic Designer.
- Bring well thought-out ideas to management to improve existing processes.
- Look at situations as a marketer to identify areas of opportunity and improvement.
- Set personal and team goals with a work ethic to meet or exceed them.
- Manage & prioritize multiple projects with differing timelines simultaneously through to completion.
- Completed bachelor’s or associates degree.
- 2+ year of experience developing WordPress websites.
- 2+ year of code development experience using PHP, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, JQuery
- Experience with MySQL and XML is a plus.
- Experience working with Creative/Design/Marketing firms or departments a plus.
- Demonstrates the ability to translate visual designs in to completed HTML pages while adhering to strict design guidelines.
- Knowledge of media queries and responsive CSS – either hand coding or using responsive CSS frameworks (Bootstrap).
- Ability to ensure cross browser compatibility and resolve bugs.
- High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Understanding of search engine optimization (SEO).
- Ability to check your own work for quality.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Technical and intellectual task-based focus with ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Confident and articulate customer-center communicator with excellent writing skills.
