We are actively seeking Construction Managers at the senior and mid-level to support an expanding portfolio of public works, infrastructure, and facilities construction projects, throughout Southern California.
Our current project pipeline includes large-scale civic facility upgrades and modernization programs, street improvement and pavement rehabilitation projects citywide, water and wastewater infrastructure construction, and a variety of other horizontal and vertical public works undertakings.
We are hiring for the following focus areas:
- Construction Manager – Public Works & Infrastructure Projects
- Construction Manager – Street Improvements (Horizontal/Roadway)
- Civil Engineer / Construction Manager – Water / Wastewater Infrastructure
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage day-to-day construction activities on assigned public works or infrastructure projects from Notice to Proceed through project closeout.
- Oversee contractor performance, schedule adherence, and budget compliance; identify and resolve issues proactively.
- Review and process Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, change orders, and contractor correspondence.
- Conduct regular field inspections to verify conformance with plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Coordinate with public agency staff, design engineers, utility companies, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation including daily reports, meeting minutes, inspection logs, and progress reports.
- Apply knowledge of Greenbook standards, Caltrans construction practices, and applicable public agency requirements.
- Support public agency clients in contract administration, claims avoidance, and project delivery objectives.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 7 years of experience in construction management, construction inspection, or civil engineering on public works or public agency projects; senior-level candidates typically bring 10+ years.
- Demonstrated experience in horizontal construction, including street improvements, utilities, or infrastructure — or vertical/facilities experience on public agency programs.
- Working knowledge of Greenbook standards, Caltrans specifications, or applicable public agency construction standards.
- Experience with construction administration: RFIs, submittals, change order review, and contract compliance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to coordinate across multi-disciplinary project teams.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience working directly with the City of Los Angeles, LA County, or comparable major Southern California public agency.
- Familiarity with City of Los Angeles Standard Plans and Specifications or LA County Public Works standards.
- PE (Civil), CCM, PMP, or other relevant professional certification.
- Experience on water/wastewater, sewer, or underground utility construction projects.
- Proficiency with project management software (Primavera P6, Procore, MS Project) and standard office tools.
Work Environment:
This position requires flexibility to work at the consultant's office, City office in downtown Los Angeles, and/or field office at construction sites.
Construction site visits and field inspections are regular components of this role.
