We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Heavy Construction Estimator specializing in asphalt, concrete, and excavation projects within a turnkey construction environment. This pivotal role involves leading the estimation process for complex infrastructure projects, ensuring accurate cost projections, competitive pricing, and comprehensive bid submissions. Responsibilities
- Review and interpret detailed construction drawings, technical specifications, and project plans to develop accurate estimates for asphalt paving, concrete work, and excavation services.
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates by analyzing material requirements, labor needs, equipment usage, subcontractor quotes, and project timelines.
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Xactimate to generate detailed bid proposals that align with project scope and client expectations.
- Manage the entire estimating process from initial inquiry through proposal submission, including pricing negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop contingency plans to mitigate potential overruns or delays.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure estimates reflect project realities while maintaining competitive edge.
- Monitor and control costs throughout the bidding process to ensure profitability while adhering to budget constraints.
- Review construction drawings for accuracy, identify potential issues early, and recommend solutions to optimize project execution.
- Maintain organized records of all estimate documentation for future reference and audit purposes.
- Stay informed about industry trends, material costs, labor rates, and regulatory changes affecting heavy construction projects.

- Extensive experience in heavy construction estimating with a focus on asphalt paving, concrete work, and excavation projects.
- Proficiency in estimating software tools such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Xactimate, and related digital platforms.
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing on materials and subcontractor services.
- Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Solid understanding of construction drawing review processes and technical specifications.
- Expertise in cost management techniques including cost control, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Demonstrated experience managing large-scale construction project budgets from initial estimate through completion.
- Knowledge of contracts administration, project management principles, and construction site operations.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead multiple estimating efforts simultaneously while maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines.
