Computer Technician

Primary Duties + Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of a Data Doctors Computer User Support Specialist are to service and repair Windows-based computer systems, both in the hardware and software areas. However, many of our customers need in-store service, installation, configuration & upgrading of desktop and laptop computers.
There will be opportunities to learn new things every day. This fast-paced industry never has a boring day as long as you are open to new challenges and opportunities. This position requires a strong ability to complete technical tasks and communicate them effectively to customers. Qualifications
We love providing opportunity to our employees to grow and strengthen their technical and leadership abilities. However, as a high-skilled position, our Computer User Support Specialists (Apprentice) must meet the following prerequisite qualifications:
· High School Diploma
· Valid Driver's License
· Customer Service/Sales Experience
· Self-Motivated with a Desire to Advance
· Strong Communication and Organizational Skills
While those are the set requisites for the Computer User Support Specialist position, we're giving bonus points for applicants with strong computer knowledge, previous technical experience, and customer service/consulting experience.
The full-time apprenticeship at Data Doctors in Gilbert, AZ is a full time hourly position to include paid days off, purchase benefits, medical/dental/vision benefits, and retirement benefits.
Weeks 1-12 - The wage will be $16 an hour (full time) while the apprentice learns the basics of the A+ certification while receiving on the job training. Customer service, operations, and communication skills will also be trained and tested during this time. The apprentice will be with trainers through this time.
Weeks 13-24 -The wage will be $17 an hour (full time) while the apprentice moves to the main store location they will work. They will being working alongside of another full time employee continuing learn more advanced computer repair techniques. During this time, they will be responsible for the operation of a store including responsibilities of customer service, operations, and technical expectations. They will have managers and trainers continue to help without as much frequency during this time.
Weeks 25 - About 54 - The wage will be increased to $18 an hour (full time) while the apprentice operates a store location on their own with little to no assistance from training staff. They will be responsible for all of the expectations for the store location. During this time, they will also be preparing for the A+ certification which will be paid for by Data Doctors towards the end of the apprenticeship term. Materials will be provided (book) and the two parts of the test will be paid for once by Data Doctors.
At the end of the apprenticeship, the apprentice will receive a certificate of training completion from Data Doctors in addition to the A+ certification provided the tests were passed.
