Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and experienced Fiber Splicing Field Technician to join our team. This role focuses heavily on troubleshooting fiber optic networks, emergency repairs, and on-call response. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in fast-paced field environments.
This position requires strong diagnostic skills, OTDR testing experience, and the ability to respond to service outages during scheduled on-call rotations.
- Diagnose and repair fiber optic network outages and service degradations
- Perform OTDR, power meter, and light source testing to identify faults
- Locate fiber breaks, high-loss points, and signal issues
- Perform emergency restoration and temporary repairs as needed
- Read and interpret fiber network maps, splice matrices, and schematics
- Respond to after-hours outages and emergency tickets
- Maintain readiness for rapid deployment during network interruptions
- Communicate clearly with dispatch, supervisors, and customers during outages Preferred Skills
- Experience with aerial and underground fiber systems
- Knowledge of GPON, backbone, and distribution networks
- Strong problem-solving skills under pressure
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must have reliable transportation.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
