Founding Strategic Advisor – Cooperative Broadband & Member Services

MDU Datacom is seeking a highly respected retired or semi-retired electric cooperative executive to serve as a Founding Strategic Advisor as we expand innovative member-focused services to electric cooperatives and cooperative broadband providers across the United States.
This is a unique opportunity to help shape and grow a national initiative designed to deliver exceptional value to cooperative members while creating new recurring revenue opportunities for electric cooperatives and their affiliated broadband operations.
Our immediate focus is the deployment of a proven DIRECTV STREAM Cooperative Program that enables cooperatives to provide significant savings and enhanced entertainment options to their members. Looking ahead, this initiative will be supported by Member Fox™, a next-generation member engagement and subscription management platform designed specifically for cooperatives and broadband providers.
Who We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is a retired or semi-retired:
- Electric Cooperative CEO
- General Manager
- Executive Director
- Broadband/Fiber Division Executive
- Member Services Executive
- Cooperative Association Executive
The successful candidate will have extensive industry relationships, a deep understanding of cooperative culture, and a passion for helping cooperatives deliver greater value to their members.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic guidance on cooperative industry initiatives.
- Assist in identifying and prioritizing prospective cooperative and broadband opportunities.
- Introduce MDU Datacom leadership to cooperative executives and decision-makers.
- Provide insight regarding cooperative operations, member engagement, and board governance.
- Assist in refining messaging, positioning, and market strategy.
- Serve as a trusted advisor as the company expands nationally.

Preferred Qualifications
- 20+ years of leadership experience within the electric cooperative industry.
- Existing relationships with cooperative CEOs, General Managers, broadband executives, and industry leaders.
- Experience with broadband, fiber deployment, member services, or cooperative innovation initiatives.
- Strong reputation for integrity and leadership within the cooperative community.
- Interest in mentoring and helping build a high-growth cooperative-focused company.
Compensation
Compensation structure is flexible and may include:
- Advisory compensation

Pay: $2,500.00 - $12,000.00 per month
