Full Job Description

The Senior Structural Engineer will lead the design, analysis, and certification of advanced aerospace systems, including aircraft structures, mission payloads, electronic systems, and space exploration platforms.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead and execute complex structural engineering projects from concept through certification.

· Perform advanced structural analysis, validation, and substantiation of metallic and composite structures throughout the product lifecycle, utilizing finite element analysis (FEA) to support design development, certification, and production readiness.

· Develop, review, and approve structural designs, engineering reports, and technical documentation.

· Conduct static strength, fatigue, and damage tolerance analysis.

· Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards, certification requirements, and engineering best practices.

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

· 10+ years of structural engineering experience supporting aerospace, aviation, defense, or related industries.

· Strong understanding of engineering principles, structural mechanics, and aerospace design practices.

· Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering and product development teams.

· Advanced knowledge of static strength analysis, structural design, and hand-calculation methodologies.

· Proficiency with Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools, including MSC Patran, Nastran, FEMAP, or ANSYS.

· Experience performing fatigue and damage tolerance assessments.

· Ability to author and review structural substantiation and certification reports.

· Knowledge of mechanical design principles, including parametric modeling, model-based definition, material selection, hardware integration, and manufacturing processes.

Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour
