Full Job Description

TRUCK DRIVING SCHOOL INSTRUCTOR, Central Oregon (Redmond)

PART TIME POSITION

Only professionally qualified people apply. Must have a minimum of 3 years truck driving experience, or 2 years if you are an IITRgraduate. Prefer drivers who have had previous experience training students. Must possess either a HSD, GED college grad or DD-214 (State requires proof). Dress code requires neat and clean appearance. Must be able to work various shifts. We can discuss this. Good pay.

INSTRUCTOR JOB DESCRIPTION

CLASSROOM, ROAD AND YARD INSTRUCTOR JOB DESCRIPTION

01) Must at all times maintain a professional level of skills, attitude, and appearance and constantly set an example for our students because our students learn by example.

02) Must be able to work within our "Team Concept" framework with our instructional faculty and compliment their efforts.

03) Must adhere to all IITR policies and procedures. This also includes company and instructional policies and procedures regarding curriculum and training necessary to develop safe, courteous, entry-level truck driving graduates.

04) Must be able to communicate all instructions with an extreme amount of patience while giving calm and clear instruction to our students. Must maintain adequate alertness to take any necessary verbal or physical action required to avert an emergency or loss of tractor-trailer control. This includes effective driving of the tractor-trailer from the right seat and accepting responsibility for the safety of the vehicle and all its occupants.

05) Must take responsibility for students when in our tractor-trailer and be aware that their public behavior reflects the core values of IITR.

06) Must monitor student learning difficulties, student to student and student to instructor relations, and report any potential problems to the appropriate Lead Instructor.

07) Must work closely with staff as well as faculty to ensure positive growth and revisions of institutional goals and help to foster an ongoing positive and satisfying work environment.

08) Must show up to work at least 15 minutes in advance every scheduled work day and must be able to work any shift from 06:00 am until 4:30 pm any day of the week.

09) Must be prepared to work occasional 10.5 hour shifts on a rotating basis. Although not common, it may be necessary at times.

10) Must be responsible to maintain your assigned tractor-trailer and see that all necessary repairs are reported to the Lead road instructor on a daily basis.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
