Position Summary
The Business Manager serves as the primary strategic operational leader, responsible for translating organizational vision into effective execution. This position provides leadership and oversight of administrative operations, business performance and organizational initiatives, while supporting long-term growth and sustainability. This is a hands on role that requires a high level of business acumen, leadership, problem-solving, discretion, and independent judgment.
This role will receive mentorship and coaching from the CEO and owners to develop increasing responsibility for strategic and operational leadership functions and is expected to assume increasing operational leadership responsibilities over time.
Executive Leadership & Strategic Partnership
- Assist in the idea generation, development, implementation, and monitoring of organizational goals and strategic initiatives.
- Translate strategic priorities into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
- Research, analyze, and present recommendations related to organizational growth, operations, staffing, and business development opportunities.
- Prepare supporting materials for leadership meetings and decision-making.
- Participate in executive-level planning and decision-making processes to develop the skills and organizational knowledge necessary to assume increasing operational leadership
- Oversee day-to-day administrative and business operations to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and accountability.
- Ensure operational consistency across locations and service lines.
- Maintain oversight of facility operations, vendor relationships, and business service contracts.
- Provide direct supervision, coaching, and support to designated administrative and operational staff.
- Partner with department leaders to improve performance, accountability, and team effectiveness. Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention initiatives.
Financial Management & Business Performance
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and organizational performance analysis.
- Monitor revenue, expenses, productivity, and key business indicators.
- Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Support revenue cycle management efforts, including billing operations, accounts receivable monitoring, and payer-related initiatives.
- Assist ownership and executive leadership with evaluating new business opportunities, investments, and operational changes.
Healthcare Operations & Compliance
- Support compliance with federal, state, accreditation, payer, and organizational requirements.
- Assist with audits, credentialing initiatives, contract management, reporting requirements, and regulatory reviews. Work directly with Billing, Client Care, Accounting, Marketing and HR managers and be able to fill in for either of them as needed.
- Monitor operational compliance processes and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative leadership to ensure policies and procedures remain current and effective and documented.
- Support risk management, quality improvement, and organizational readiness efforts.
Systems, Technology & Process Improvement
- Evaluate and optimize business systems, software platforms, and operational processes.
- Support implementation and maintenance of electronic health record systems and other organizational technologies.
- Develop workflows, procedures, and documentation to support operational consistency.
- Utilize data and analytics to drive operational decision-making.
Organizational Change & Project Management
- Lead and coordinate organizational projects from planning through implementation.
- Track milestones, timelines, responsibilities, and outcomes.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, expansions, service line development, office relocations, and other strategic initiatives as needed.
- Facilitate communication and change management efforts to support successful implementation of organizational priorities.
Qualifications required
- Bachelor's (or Masters) degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Management, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field or equivalent experience
- Five or more years of progressive leadership, operations, or management experience.
- Strong financial, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience leading projects and managing competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.
Preferred
- Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, medical practice management, or related healthcare settings. Special consideration given to Medicaid management, and insurance billing management.
- Experience with budgeting, financial analysis, revenue cycle management, or healthcare operations.
- Experience supervising staff and leading organizational change initiatives.
Work Environment
This is an on-site leadership position that works closely with the Ownership Team, Department Managers including the Therapist Supervision Team. The role requires regular interaction with staff, vendors, healthcare partners, payers, and community stakeholders.
The Business Manager must be comfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously, responding to evolving organizational needs, and exercising a high degree of professionalism, discretion, and independent judgment.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
