Medication Technician

Evergreen Manor Assisted Living

Full Time

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medication Technician to join our healthcare team. The Medication Technician will be responsible for assisting with the administration and management of medications for residents in a memory Care assisted living, The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medication protocols, a commitment to patient safety, and excellent communication skills and hands on approach with dementia residents.

Assist with administration with medications to Residents according to prescribed schedules and guidelines.
Prepare, document assist with medication administration accurately.
Monitor patients for side effects and adverse reactions and report any concerns to the supervising nurse or healthcare provider.
Assist with medication storage and inventory management, ensuring that medications are properly maintained and disposed of.
Collaborate with management other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive patient care.
Educate families on medication assistance management and safety practices.
Maintain accurate and confidential records related to assist with medication administration and resident health.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development to keep abreast of best practices in medication management.

High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in Medication Administration or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in medication management, is a plus.
6 hour initial certificate along with two hour recertification if applicable is a must.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Current CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred and will be required to continue further employment.
Must pass background checks and comply with state licensing requirements.

Ability to lift and move patients and equipment as necessary.
Capability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
