Full Job Description

Payroll & Benefits Specialist (Multi-State Payroll | UKG Preferred)
Location: Greenville, SC
Pay: Competitive Salary + Comprehensive Benefits
Schedule: Monday – Friday | Full-Time | Onsite

Our client is a well-established and growing organization committed to operational excellence and employee engagement. They are seeking an experienced Payroll & Benefits Specialist to serve as the subject matter expert for payroll operations while supporting the administration of a comprehensive employee benefits program.

This is a direct-hire opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys partnering with employees and leadership to ensure accurate payroll processing and exceptional benefits administration.

What You Get to Do:

Own the end-to-end payroll process for multi-state, multi-entity operations
Process regular and off-cycle payroll, including deductions, garnishments, retro pay, and tax withholdings
Perform payroll audits, reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Administer employee benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), disability, life insurance, FSA/HSA, and COBRA
Coordinate new hire benefits orientation and annual open enrollment
Manage FMLA, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, ACA reporting, and 401(k) administration
Partner with vendors, brokers, Finance, and HR to ensure accurate payroll and benefits administration
Generate payroll and benefits reports while identifying opportunities for process improvements
Support HRIS enhancements, audits, and special projects

What You Need to Succeed:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business, or a related field
3+ years of end-to-end payroll processing experience (multi-state preferred)
Experience administering employee benefits programs
Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and HR compliance
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, data reconciliation, and complex formulas
Experience working within an HRIS/payroll system (UKG strongly preferred)
Excellent analytical, organizational, and customer service skills
High level of confidentiality and attention to detail
