We have 70 years of expertise in the field of electron microscopy, more than 60 years in mass spectrometry and NMR spectrometry, and more than 50 years of e-beam lithography leadership. The primary business of JEOL USA is the sales of new instruments and peripherals and support of scientific instruments throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, and South America.

Field Service Engineer

As a field service engineer in the Newark, NJ area you will travel daily to customer sites in NJ/NY area to install scientific instruments and provide hands on technical support, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair electron microscopes for clients. The position

Field Service Responsibilities

Install new or modified electron microscopes at customer's facility to ensure full functionality according to specifications.
Independently diagnose and repair electron microscopes within the territory
Inspect malfunctioning instrument to determine nature and scope of problem.
Resolve problems with affected instrument or prepare a report of findings
Troubleshoot and repair equipment at customer sites

Field Service Requirements

An AS degree in engineering and/or science from an accredited university; plus 6+ months electronics or related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent customer service skills
Hands-on technical experience with installation and repair of equipment
Knowledge of and ability to apply analog, digital, and RF electronics.
A basic understanding of troubleshooting techniques and approaches
Requires a valid driver’s license, passport, and up to 30% overnight travel
