Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HVAC Service Manager to lead our heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) service operations. This pivotal role involves overseeing technical service teams, managing client relationships, and ensuring the delivery of top-tier HVAC solutions across various property types. The ideal candidate will possess extensive construction and service technician experience, along with a comprehensive understanding of mechanical systems, electrical diagnostics, refrigeration, and building automation systems. As an HVAC Service Manager, you will drive operational excellence, promote safety standards, and foster a culture of continuous improvement to meet our clients' needs effectively.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate HVAC service teams in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining complex mechanical systems.
Oversee the installation and commissioning of commercial HVAC systems with adherence to design schematics and technical specifications.
Manage scheduling of field service activities to ensure timely completion of maintenance and repair projects.
Conduct detailed inspections using tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment to identify system faults.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations including EPA standards for refrigerants and ammonia refrigeration handling.
Collaborate with clients to assess their needs, provide technical guidance on HVAC/R solutions, and recommend upgrades or improvements.
Promote ongoing training for team members in areas such as electrical diagnostics, appliance repair, boiler operation, welding techniques, and property maintenance best practices.

Experience

Proven construction experience with a strong background in mechanical systems installation and repair.
Extensive service technician experience in HVAC/R environments involving air conditioning, refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), plumbing, electrical diagnostics, and boiler systems.
Demonstrated ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings related to HVAC design.
Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) used for controlling HVAC operations.
Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; experience working with ammonia refrigeration systems is advantageous.
Hands-on experience with field service operations across diverse property types including commercial or industrial facilities.
Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters effectively in troubleshooting scenarios.
Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience in property maintenance or appliance repair roles.
Valid driver’s license; willingness to travel between job sites as needed.
