Globetrotters is seeking a Construction Manager to play a key role on our Civil and Construction Management team, overseeing projects for the Chicago Department of Water Management (DWM). This position offers the opportunity to manage a wide range of infrastructure improvement and rehabilitation projects critical to the city’s water systems.
Typical construction projects include work involving civil, structural, mechanical, and/or electrical disciplines, and may be located at water purification plants, pumping stations, or along water mains throughout Chicago.
In this role, you will:
- Oversee and coordinate all phases of water management construction projects, ensuring compliance with approved design plans, specifications, and safety standards
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to resident engineers and inspection staff
- Track project progress and evaluate contractor performance to ensure timely, high-quality delivery
- Review and approve contractor submittals, pay applications, and change orders in accordance with contract requirements
- Prepare comprehensive daily reports and maintain accurate, organized project documentation
- Serve as a liaison between the owner, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure clear and consistent communication
- Identify and resolve field issues in collaboration with engineering and operations teams
- Ensure compliance with DWM, IDOT, CDOT, and all other applicable agency standards and regulations
- Perform additional related duties as assigned
We are looking for someone who has:
- Minimum of three (3) years of construction management experience, preferably involving water, wastewater, or municipal infrastructure projects
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required; a concentration in Construction Management is preferred
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Bluebeam and/or MicroStation is a plus
- Familiarity with construction management databases and electronic documentation systems
- Ability to inspect active construction sites and perform fieldwork in varying weather conditions
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends or overnight shifts, as project demands require
- Experience with IDOT, ISTHA, and/or CDOT projects preferred
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to pass a motor vehicle records (MVR) check
- IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities Certification preferred

Salary range is $80,000 – $135,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
