Gaviña Coffee Company has enjoyed a rich history in the coffee industry for almost 60 years, including providing offices, hotels, schools, micro-markets and more with superior commercial coffee services to help them serve their customers, guests and employees the very best coffee available.
We currently have need for an experienced, mechanically-inclined Service Technician to help install and repair commercial coffee equipment for our customers in various market areas. The Technician will work with the Service Department team on completing equipment installations, troubleshooting, and preforming preventative maintenance for new and existing customers. The right person MUST be comfortable driving for 90% of this job and be willing to share with the other techs in the rotating overnight/weekend on-call shift.

WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO:
- Provide exceptional, friendly, and timely customer service to accounts by analyzing work orders, planning a daily travel schedule
- Complete daily work orders onsite and offsite
- Be knowledgeable about professional industry coffee equipment, including: Bunn, Curtis, Fetco, Grindmaster, Bloomfield, Casadio Cimbali, Nuova Simonelli, Expobar and Marlinc machines.
- Maintains excellent rapport with customers by examining complaints, identifying solutions, suggesting improved methods and techniques, and recommending system improvements.
- Maintain supplies and order equipment parts
- Keep company equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
- Conduct equipment testing and diagnostics
- Document service and installations by completing applicable records (forms, logs, reports).
- Follow all guidelines and perform duties within safety regulations, including the use and maintenance of the service vehicles.
WHAT WE NEED YOU TO HAVE:
- Experience fixing appliances, machines, vehicles is relevant and helpful
- MUST have valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
- Strong in computer skills
- Thorough and effective face-to-face and telephone communication skills
- Excellent customer service and follow-up skills
- Trustworthy timekeeping and self-management skills
- Ability to safely use dollies and other lifting tools
- Available for rotating on-call shifts (7 weekends and 2 holidays per year) that may also require night work (on-call bonus in addition to any worked hours is paid)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS TO CONSIDER:
- Must be able to lift up to 20 to 70lbs
- Hands and fingers with dexterity to work with equipment parts and installation
- Hearing: must be able to listen for machine malfunctions or operating sounds
- Ability to stand, bend, twist as needed to install equipment in a variety of locations and spaces
- Must be able to drive long hours
- Ability to read specifications, write notes, and hear potential mechanical equipment malfunctions
- Ability to work in fluctuating hot and cold environments
