Hearth is looking for a warm, dependable, and hospitality-driven Front of House Server to join our team.
Hearth is a neighborhood restaurant located in Moorpark’s historic High Street Arts Center area. We serve coffee and lunch during the day, followed by Latin-inspired seasonal plates, wood-fired pizza, beer, and wine in the evening.
We are a small, community-focused restaurant that values quality, creativity, teamwork, and genuine hospitality. Our Front of House team is the face of Hearth and creates both the first and last impression for every guest.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: Hourly wage plus tips
Schedule: Evening and weekend availability required

Create an Exceptional Guest Experience
- Greet every guest warmly and sincerely from the moment they arrive.
- Guide guests through our seasonal food, coffee, beer, and wine offerings with knowledge and enthusiasm.
- Offer thoughtful recommendations based on each guest’s preferences.
- Remain attentive throughout the dining experience and anticipate guests’ needs.
- Address concerns with empathy, professionalism, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Help turn everyday visits into meaningful and memorable experiences.
Deliver Hospitality with Excellence
- Practice Hearth’s commitment to unreasonable hospitality by looking for thoughtful ways to exceed expectations.
- Execute each step of service with consistency, precision, and care.
- Accurately take orders and communicate modifications, allergies, and dietary restrictions.
- Collaborate closely with the kitchen and fellow Front of House team members.
- Ensure food and beverages are delivered promptly and presented at their best.
- Maintain a strong understanding of menu ingredients, preparation methods, and seasonal changes.
Support a Positive Team Environment
- Help create a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment for both guests and coworkers.
- Remain calm, adaptable, and organized during busy or challenging services.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with all members of the team.
- Assist with training new team members by modeling Hearth’s service standards and values.
- Step in wherever needed to support the success of the restaurant.
Care for the Restaurant
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dining room, host stand, patio, and service areas.
- Set, clear, clean, and reset tables with care and attention to detail.
- Complete opening, running, and closing side work thoroughly.
- Help manage reservations, waitlists, and walk-in guests when needed.
- Monitor the flow of the dining room and communicate wait times accurately.
- Take pride in ensuring the restaurant always feels clean, welcoming, and thoughtfully maintained.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous restaurant, serving, or hospitality experience is preferred.
- A genuine passion for taking care of people.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Dependability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
- A willingness to learn about seasonal food, coffee, beer, and wine.
- The ability to stand and move throughout the shift and safely carry plates, trays, and restaurant supplies.
- Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must meet all applicable age and certification requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.
