Full Job Description

Overview

Join our dedicated team as a Job Coach/Direct Support Professional and become a vital catalyst in empowering individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and other challenges to achieve their personal and professional goals. In this energetic role, you will provide personalized support, mentorship, and training to help clients develop essential life skills, secure employment, and foster independence. Your enthusiasm and commitment will directly impact lives by fostering inclusive communities where everyone can thrive. Duties

Develop individualized support plans tailored to each client’s strengths, needs, and aspirations, focusing on employment readiness and life skills.
Provide hands-on coaching during job training, community integration activities, and daily living tasks to promote independence and confidence.
Assist clients with resume building, interview preparation, and job search strategies to secure meaningful employment opportunities.
Collaborate with employers, community organizations, and families to coordinate services that support client success in the workplace and community settings.
Monitor client progress through regular documentation, case management records, and feedback sessions to ensure continuous improvement.
Conduct training sessions on social skills, workplace etiquette, addiction counseling techniques when applicable, and other relevant topics.
Recruit new clients through outreach initiatives within underserved communities and participate in workforce development programs to expand access to services.

Requirements

Demonstrated knowledge of employment & labor law as it pertains to individuals with disabilities; experience applying these laws in practice is preferred.
Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism; familiarity with social work principles and case management is highly desirable.
Strong background in teaching, mentoring, interviewing techniques, and training & development strategies aimed at fostering independence.
Experience in workforce development programs or related initiatives that support employment for underserved populations.
Ability to effectively communicate with diverse populations including those from underserved communities; cultural competency is essential.
Knowledge of addiction counseling principles when working with clients facing substance use challenges; ability to incorporate holistic support approaches.
Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining detailed records aligned with employment & labor law standards.
