About this job
As the Field Services Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing field operations to ensure quality, adherence to budgetary constraints, and efficient workflow. This role requires effective communication, strong leadership, and comprehensive knowledge of the utility services industry. The Field Services Operations Manager will work closely with Field Supervisors, Project Coordinators, Project Managers, Field Services Director, and the Field Services General Manager to optimize operations and achieve organizational goals.
Essential Functions and Duties
- Monitor project budgets, from the proposal stage through final deliverables, ensuring that expenses are within allocated limits.
- Coordinate and collaborate with Field Supervisors to ensure quality checks are conducted on all field projects and services.
- Ensure the proper allocation of personnel and resources to meet project deadlines.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.
- Field supervise crews to ensure accuracy.
- Oversee the performance management of all field personnel, project coordinators, project managers, and traffic control by providing feedback, guidance, and training as needed.
- Collaborate with Training and Safety Supervisor to foster a culture of safety and adherence to industry regulations by promoting and enforcing safety protocols and standards.
- Collaborate with Project Coordinators to ensure we obtain proper certifications and permits from local municipalities and jurisdictions.
- Liaise with the Field Services Director and Field Services General Manager to provide regular updates on project status, challenges, and opportunities.
- Recruit, hire, manage, mentor, and retain staff necessary to maintain and/or improve the department’s ability to produce a quality work product.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience supervising field crews in a related industry, preferably within the utility services industry
- 3+ years of designation of utilities using surface geophysical equipment
- 1+ year of SUE experience
- Able to work flexible hours (some night and weekend work may be required)
- Local market experience preferred but not required
- Able to pass pre-employment drug and criminal background screen
- Clean driving record
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Able to lead by example, demonstrating strong leadership skills and promoting a positive work environment
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the utility services industry
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with project management software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs
- Able to handle tight deadlines
Pay:
$95,000 - $115,000
This is an exempt position that is not eligible for overtime pay.
Your actual rate will depend on your applicable skills and experience.
