Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Freelance IT Support professional to provide remote and on-site technical assistance to clients across various industries. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to work on diverse projects, supporting organizations with their IT infrastructure, hardware, and software needs. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a broad knowledge of IT systems and support tools.

Duties

Deliver technical support for hardware, software, and network issues across multiple operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Troubleshoot software problems related to Microsoft Office, Active Directory, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, TCP/IP protocols, and other network services.
Manage computer systems and peripherals, ensuring optimal performance and security.
Assist with desktop support tasks such as configuring user accounts via GPO, SCCM deployment, and troubleshooting hardware components.
Support network administration activities including LAN management, Cisco Meraki devices, and TCP/IP configurations.
Utilize help desk tools like ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy to track issues and document resolutions.
Conduct analysis of system logs and performance metrics to identify potential issues before they impact users.
Provide guidance on IT infrastructure setup and maintenance for clients’ servers (Windows Server environments), mobile devices, and other endpoints.
Collaborate with clients to resolve complex technical problems efficiently while maintaining high customer service standards.

Skills

Proven experience in technical support with expertise in software troubleshooting and computer management.
Strong knowledge of operating systems including Windows (including Windows Server), macOS, and Linux.
Familiarity with network administration concepts such as LAN/WAN management, DNS configuration, TCP/IP protocols, VPNs, firewalls (including Cisco Meraki), and TCP troubleshooting.
Proficiency in using IT management tools like SCCM, GPO, Active Directory, ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy for issue tracking and system deployment.
Ability to support computer hardware components and mobile devices effectively.
Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service and clear technical explanations.
Analytical skills for diagnosing complex system issues quickly and accurately.
Knowledge of BMC Remedy for incident management; experience with network security tools like firewalls; understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP; familiarity with network devices like Meraki equipment is a plus.
