Lead Field Technician - Advanced A/V & Automation Systems

Compensation: $45.00 - $60.00 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday (Some weekends/overtime possible)
About the Role:
InVision Communications is looking for a Lead Field Technician to oversee the installation, integration, and servicing of high-end audio/visual systems, home automation, lighting controls, motorized shading, networks and security solutions. This leadership role is based in Vail, CO, and involves managing on-site technicians, ensuring project excellence, and delivering a premium client experience in luxury residential and commercial settings.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on-site installations of A/V, automation, lighting, and security systems.
- Supervise and mentor a team of field technicians; ensure timely, high-quality execution.
- Diagnose and repair system issues across all technology platforms.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and sales teams to execute vision-aligned solutions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and wiring schematics.
- Maintain detailed documentation including service logs and project configurations.
- Interface with clients, builders, and contractors to maintain clear, professional communication.
- Stay up to date with the latest technology, tools, and industry best practices.
- Ensure all job sites follow safety standards and company protocols.
Requirements:
- 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in A/V installation and home automation.
- Advanced knowledge of A/V integration, networking, lighting control, and security systems.
- Proficiency with Crestron and Lutron systems.
- Strong skills in rack building, cable management, and structured wiring.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation.
- Proven leadership and team supervision experience.
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Comfortable working independently or within a team.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Familiarity with both new construction and finished environments.
- Competent with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, etc.).
