Full Job Description

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Community Educator is a non-exempt position responsible for developing, coordinating, and providing presentations and training in Pinellas, Pasco and Hillsborough Counties. This includes a focus on reducing risk factors and increasing healthy behaviors via community education.

Utilize social marketing strategies to disseminate information on medication management and the prevention of substance abuse.
Identify appropriate sites in the community and schedule educational presentations.
Adhere to guidelines of adopted Evidence-Based Pracces (EBPs) and ensure program fidelity.
Research, develop, and deliver new presentaons aimed at promoting healthy behaviors and reducing substance abuse risk factors.
Participate actively in outreach events to raise awareness and engagement.
Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to expand the reach and impact of educational programs.
Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness through feedback and data collection.
Perform all other duties assigned by the Senior Director of Behavioral Health.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

Bachelor’s degree in a human services or related field
Previous experience with mental health/substance abuse.
Experience in public speaking or teaching preferred.
Computer experience, which includes Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records.
Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organization skills.
Must obtain/maintain CPR and first-aid training within 90 days of employment.
Must use personal vehicle for community-based visits.
Must have a valid driver's license with auto insurance coverage.
