Optometrist - Full-time/Part-time - Full Scope Private Practice - Bishop, CA (International Climbing Destination!)

Our practice was established in 1949 by an SCCO graduate and WWII Veteran, and have been proudly providing care to our community since. Our MO is to give our patients what they need-we are not here to sell things, we’re here to make lives better. This work ethic has given us a loyal, incredible patient base-we are treating the 3rd generations of many of our patients. This is the perfect opportunity for a doctor looking to practice full scope and to become a member of a community where they will be welcomed!

What You’ll Need:

Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) Degree (or pending)
Valid CA state license to practice optometry (or pending)
Availability to work
We are looking for a doctor that possesses integrity and kindness so that our patients always feel cared for and comfortable
We’re looking for a personable and knowledgeable doctor, who knows how to educate each different personality that sits down in their chair.

Exposure: We treat a great deal of ocular disease in our practice. As we are the only private eye care practice in a 200-mile range we see everything here, and our doctors need to feel comfortable treating disease, managing scleral and specialty contact lenses, pediatrics, ocular disease, and glaucoma in addition to comprehensive primary care.

Environment: Our team is well-trained and is here to guarantee each other’s success and the success of our patients. You’ll be working alongside three opticians, another doctor, a biller, and our office manager. Likewise, you will have everything you need to be successful with our state of the art technology, including:

4 Fully Equipped Exams Room

Schedule: We value work-life balance - therefore our doctors work standard hours, 8 AM to 5 PM with no weekends! Similarly, we know the importance of scheduling for our doctor and our patients’ wellbeing, so our doctors see no more than 14 patients for comprehensive exams per day.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary commensurate with experience, starts $600/day.Benefits include:

2 CE meetings per year are covered
Open to a monthly stipend for medical insurance

CA licensure dues

We are the only private practice in 3 counties and are currently booked 6 months in advance with patients who travel from as far as 200 miles away, so you will always have work guaranteed. Our town, Bishop, is a town of 4000 people in a county of 19,000. This is an international destination for mountain climbers hikers and mountaineers, only 1 and a half hours from Yosemite, 45 min from Mammoth mountain, and 1 and a half from Death Valley. This is a Mecca for folks who love living an outdoors life, and who want to raise a family in that environment!
