At NTBG, we are dedicated to a critical global mission: perpetuating tropical plants, ecosystems, and cultural heritage. Managing a network of five botanical gardens, preserves, and research facilities across Hawaiʻi and Florida, our team works to restore relationships between people, plants, and places. We are seeking Tour Guides for our Lāwaʻi Gardens who will share the beauty, culture, and history of Allerton Garden and McBryde Garden with the public. Do you love meeting new people and sharing stories about Kauaʻi’s rich heritage? Join our dynamic team as a Tour Guide and host guided outdoor tours in our botanical gardens.
Key areas of responsibility
- Transportation of visitors to and from our beautiful gardens
- Act as lead guide for all available tours, from cruise ships to sunset dinners
- Assist in gift shop and other areas of the garden as needed
Qualifications
- Must have a current Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Pre-Employment drug testing required
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) requirements:
- Position will require a CDL with passenger endorsement (National Association for Interpretation certification is a plus)
- Applicants without a CDL will be required to obtain one; NTBG will pay for CDL training and testing
- Ability to provide excellent customer service and aloha spirit
- Ability to multi-task, walk for long periods of time on uneven terrain and provide excellent guest service.
- Ability to work flexible hours
Compensation
- Competitive Pay: $22.52 – $26.01/ hr., DOE & CDL or no CDL, plus tips!
- SIGN ON BONUS:
- For successful applicant with CDL $3,000.00 as follows:
- $1,000 after 30 days
- $1,000 after 90 days
- $1,000 after 180 days
- For successful applicant without CDL $2,000.00 as follows:
- $1,000 after 30 days
- $1,000 after obtaining CDL
