Full Job Description

King David Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is looking for a Memory Lane Coordinator to join the team at our Skilled Nursing Facility in Brooklyn, NY!

The Allure Group is a consortium of six rehabilitation centers across Brooklyn and Manhattan, NY, specializing in post-acute and sub-acute skilled nursing and rehabilitation. We pride ourselves in providing a high standard of care for patients of all ages and conditions while upholding an environment of kindness, dignity, and respect for employees and residents. As a Memory Lane Coordinator at The Allure Group, you would be part of a winning team doing meaningful work to improve residents' quality of life, health, and comfort.

Memory Lane Coordinator Responsibilities

Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the activity programs for the dementia unit
Create a monthly and daily recreation calendar and schedule for the unit
Make residents aware of activity options, encourage participation and the pursuit of leisure interests
Understand the special needs of memory-impaired residents and provide support and assistance
Perform administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submitting such to the Director of Recreation as required
Observe and record resident attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement in activities, so that facility activities and residents' progress are evaluated, by noting, reporting, and charting resident behavior
Perform other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate, or as indicated by the Director of Recreation
Arrange and attend Dementia education classes and training for staff
Manage Dementia support groups and education classes for family members

Memory Lane Coordinator Requirements

High school diploma or its equivalent
Previous experience with the senior population
COVID-19 Vaccination

Preferred

Music skills
Bilingual
