Full Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized Residential Household Manager to oversee the daily operations of our home. We are seeking someone who loves organization and creating a calm and clean environment, who wants autonomy and can function well without micro-managing. No prior house management experience is required, though we are looking for someone who can demonstrate a keen eye for detail, love of organization, and strong ownership and independence!

Requirements

Pass a background check

Comfortable around a calm and friendly 55 lb dog
Comfortable around young children

Proposed Schedule

3 or 4 hours per day, 3 or 4 days a week (depending on preference of employee), within a flexible 9:00 AM–4:00 PM window (totaling 12-16 hours a week)

About Our Family

We are a busy and professional family with three young children. Mom works a demanding corporate schedule, remote from home. Dad works shifts that vary week by week. Our kids are in school or daycare during the day. We are looking for someone to help keep our house organized and clean so that we can spend our limited free time with our children, not on household tasks.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating structure, organization, cleanliness, and helping a household run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Household Management & Organization

Laundry (running machines, folding, and putting away clothes)
Maintain and update organization systems (closets, pantry, storage, toys, children's areas, garage)
Load/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high traffic areas
Take out trash/recycling and break down boxes
Reset and tidy rooms daily
Conduct seasonal swaps (clothing, bedding, décor, baby gear)
Sort donations and coordinate drop-offs or pickups, as needed
Document items that need stocking
Support packing and unpacking for travel or seasonal transitions

Inventory Management & Errands

Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, and household supplies
Maintain running household lists and anticipate upcoming needs
(Occasional) Run errands such as grocery shopping, returns, dry cleaning, and gift shopping, if needed

Meal Planning & Preparation

Assist with weekly meal plans and preparing a grocery list
Begin light dinner prep as time allows

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects (Occasional)

Tackle occasional deep cleans (fridge, oven, baseboards, etc.)
Refresh and maintain specific home zones (entryway, garage, mudroom)
Support special organization projects (toy rotation, seasonal décor)

Childcare

While childcare is not a major component of this role (as our kids are in school during the day), we are hoping to find someone comfortable with children who can get to know our kids and assist with childcare from time to time (ability to do a 1x a month evening date night would be a huge plus, but not required!

Qualifications

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
Experience in housekeeping, home management, personal assistant roles or hospitality environments such as hotels or property management is a plus!
Proficiency in laundry management, cooking, and general housekeeping duties
Exceptional time management skills with a keen eye for detail and quality control
Some experience with children preferred (though not in any formal capacity required)
