Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist to join our dedicated healthcare team. This role involves providing specialized prosthetic and orthotic services to patients of all ages, ensuring optimal mobility, comfort, and quality of life. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical expertise, excellent patient service skills, and a commitment to advancing patient care through innovative solutions. Prior post-residency experience and a comprehensive understanding of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough patient evaluations including physical examinations to assess individual needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
Design, fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices tailored to each patient's unique anatomy and functional requirements.
Provide comprehensive patient education on device usage, maintenance, and care to promote independence and confidence.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care plans and ensure seamless service delivery.
Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatments, and follow-up care in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Stay current with advancements in prosthetics and orthotics technology through ongoing professional development.
Uphold strict aseptic techniques during device fabrication and fitting procedures to ensure patient safety.
Offer pediatric-specific services when applicable, demonstrating sensitivity to the unique needs of pediatric patients.

Requirements

Certification as a Prosthetist/Orthotist from an accredited program.
Post-residency experience in prosthetics and orthotics practice is preferred.
Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical procedures related to limb loss and musculoskeletal conditions.
Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus.
Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to patient care.
Ability to perform detailed physical examinations and interpret diagnostic information accurately.
Proficiency in aseptic techniques during device fabrication and fitting processes.
Commitment to ongoing professional development to stay abreast of technological advancements in the field.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
