Contract Legal Recruiter / HR Talent Acquisition Specialist

Johnson Law Firm, P.C. | Personal Injury & Family Law is looking for a tenacious, creative, highly resourceful Contract Legal Recruiter / HR Talent Acquisition Specialist to help us build the next chapter of our firm.

We are a fast-growing law firm based in Spokane, Washington, with a strong Family Law and Personal Injury practice. Our mission is simple:

We care fiercely about our clients, our team, and the quality of representation we provide. Now, we are focused on growing an exceptional Family Law team that can help us expand our practice and continue serving families across Washington.

This is not a passive recruiting role.

We are not looking for someone who simply posts a job and waits.

We need someone who knows how to find top legal talent, start conversations, build relationships, and help us bring outstanding attorneys into our firm.

The Mission

Your first priority will be helping Johnson Law Firm recruit and hire 3+ Family Law attorneys.

We are located in Spokane, Washington, but we are open to attorney candidates throughout the United States as long as they are licensed in Washington and able to practice law in Washington.

As our attorney team grows, this role may also support recruiting for paralegals, legal assistants, administrative professionals, and other key support roles.

What You’ll Do

Proactively source Family Law attorney candidates
Identify attorneys who may not be actively applying but could be the right fit
Use creative recruiting strategies beyond traditional job postings
Search LinkedIn, bar directories, legal networks, referral sources, Facebook groups, and other professional channels
Conduct outreach to prospective candidates
Build and manage a recruiting pipeline
Screen candidates for experience, fit, motivation, and long-term potential
Coordinate interviews with firm leadership
Track recruiting activity, candidate status, and follow-up
Help refine our recruiting strategy as we grow
Support hiring for additional legal and support roles as needed

Who You Are

You are persistent, organized, and not easily discouraged.

You know that top attorney candidates are rarely sitting around waiting to apply.

You are comfortable reaching out directly, following up, asking good questions, and finding creative ways to get in front of hard-to-find talent.

You are part recruiter, part relationship-builder, part investigator, and part strategist.

You understand that successful recruiting is not just about filling seats. It is about finding people who can perform, stay, and help build something meaningful.

Ideal Experience

Experience recruiting attorneys, legal professionals, or other hard-to-find professional talent
Experience with proactive sourcing and passive candidate outreach
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable using LinkedIn and other recruiting/search platforms
Ability to work independently and produce results without heavy supervision
Strong follow-through and attention to detail
Experience recruiting Family Law attorneys is a major plus
Experience supporting a small or growing business is also a plus
