Peerless Pump Company, an Indianapolis based subsidiary of Grundfos, is seeking an experienced CNC Machine Tool Technician to join its day shift Indianapolis Maintenance Engineering team.

The CNC Machine Tool Technician will repair, adjust, and maintain all types of machinery and mechanical equipment, including delicate mechanical instruments. Make sophisticated OEM level repairs to machine tools and related systems. This occupation requires formal training in industrial electronics and maintenance.
This position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and will operate daily out of the Indianapolis, IN facility.

What is the job about?
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Diagnose problems, dismantle, inspect, clean, lubricate, repair, replace worn or damaged parts, reassemble and adjust all types of machine tools, miscellaneous machinery, mechanical equipment, etc.
- Diagnose and repair CNC control/ servo drive, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues quickly and accurately.
- Thorough knowledge of PLC and CNC controls and ladder logic.
- Develop, build, fabricate, fit or alter parts and rebuild a variety of special machines, machine attachments, fixtures, miscellaneous machinery, mechanical equipment, etc.
What do you need to apply?
- High School Diploma, GED/HSE/HiSET or equivalent *required
- Additional Technical training *much preferred.
- 5 years experience maintaining and repairing CNC machine tools *much preferred
- Fanuc, Mazatrol, Siemens, controls knowledge *much preferred
- College credits or degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or Mechanical/Industrial Engineering Technology or related *plus.
- LabView software experience *plus
- Veterans with MOS experience maintaining and repairing sophisticated or precision mechanical systems are strongly encouraged to apply. *much preferred
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- This position requires the incumbent to stand for extended periods of time, frequently grasp tools, bend, stoop, twist, crouch, lift/push/pull, reach, stand, and walk when performing duties.
- Specific vision abilities include close, distance and peripheral vision.
- Able to work in a non-climate controlled factory or field environment.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must have a thorough knowledge of machine construction, functions and methods of repair and adjustment.
- Diagnose and repair CNC control/ servo drive, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues quickly and accurately.
- Thorough knowledge of PLC and CNC controls and ladder logic.
- Experience maintaining and repairing CNC machine tools and manual machining equipment.
- Electrical installation and repair up to 480v
- Cranes, hoists, material handling equipment,
- Computer (MS Windows, SAP, Excel)
- Manual, power driven, and pneumatic hand tools, and machine tools.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to read and apply mathematics to work from engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
- Ability to operate precision instruments, manual machining equipment and lifting equipment
- Mathematics skills including proficiency subtracting, multiplying and dividing for the purpose of calculating material fabrication.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally in the English language to understand and use written or verbal control and work instructions,
- Ability to analyze and problem solve to resolve various technical and interpersonal issues with collaboration, respect and professionalism.
- This position requires the incumbent to stand for extended periods of time, frequently grasp tools, bend, stoop, twist, crouch, lift/push/pull, reach, stand, and walk when performing duties.
- Specific vision abilities include close, distance and peripheral vision.
- Able to work in a non-climate controlled factory or field environment.
