Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Quality Director to lead and elevate our quality management systems across manufacturing operations for two manufacturing sites. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality standards to ensure our products meet the highest industry, regulatory, and customer expectations. Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality management systems aligned with ISO 9001, AS9100, ITAR and CMMC regulations, and other relevant standards.
- Lead internal and external quality audits to verify adherence to quality standards in production processes and regulatory requirements.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to product quality, process efficiency, and compliance metrics.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Six Sigma methodologies, Lean management principles, and analysis skills to optimize manufacturing processes.
- Oversee the implementation of quality inspection protocols, GDT (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and QA/QC procedures throughout production lines.
- Ensure regulatory/legal compliance standards are met consistently across all manufacturing operations while managing risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and regulatory affairs—to foster a culture of quality excellence.
- Lead training programs on quality systems and other compliance standards for staff at all levels.
- Manage external audits by regulatory agencies such as the AS or ISO certification bodies; prepare documentation and respond effectively to audit findings.
- Promote a proactive approach to quality assurance through root cause analysis and corrective action plans for any deviations or non-conformances.
- Will be responsible for two sites (Valencia and Caprinteria). The time will be shared between both sites based on needs. Must be willing to travel to both locations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role with a focus on quality management within a regulated environment.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards, Government Regulations, Industry Standards and related legal requirements.
- Demonstrated expertise in conducting quality audits and implementing robust quality systems across manufacturing operations.
- Proficiency in Six Sigma manufacturing techniques, GDT (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), Lean management strategies, and analysis skills for process optimization.
- Excellent project management abilities with a track record of leading cross-functional teams toward achieving strategic quality objectives.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to train staff on complex compliance topics effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing technology or related field; advanced certifications such as Six Sigma Black Belt or CQE are highly desirable.
- Familiarity with QA/QC procedures including quality inspection methods and manufacturing process validation.

Pay: $82,325.74 - $99,144.98 per year
