AchievePoint Florida (formerly NorthStar Academies) in Miami Dade County, FL is seeking an ESE Coordinator for C.G. Bethel High School in North Miami, FL and Chambers High School in Homestead, FL.
Job Summary:
The ESE Coordinator serves as the Local Education Agency (LEA) Representative for assigned schools, ensuring each school's strict adherence to federal and state regulations, including IDEA, Section 504, and Florida Rule 6A-6.03028. This role is fully responsible for all ESE compliance, documentation, and audit readiness, which includes preparing ESE folders and binders, maintaining the Matrix of Services for FTE reporting, and meticulously monitoring critical timelines such as the 60-day evaluation period and manifestation determination reviews.
The ESE Coordinator leads initial eligibility meetings and 504 evaluations, reviews and approves all drafted IEPs and 504 plans for legal sufficiency, and provides formal and informal instructional coaching to ESE teachers. Furthermore, the Coordinator is the primary liaison for parent concerns and dispute resolution, auditing service logs weekly to ensure alignment with IEP minutes and leading transition planning for students aged 14-22.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelors of Arts or Science Degree in Special Education, or in related field;
- Valid Florida Professional Special Education Teacher certification;
- Willing to acquire Reading Certification and add to state certification;
- Minimum three to five (3-5) years of Special Education teaching experience;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook;
