Full Job Description

Field Service Technician – Breakroom & Refreshment Equipment

Are you a hands-on problem solver who enjoys working independently? Join PGI Services as a Field Service Technician delivering top-quality service to our customers.

In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain breakroom and refreshment equipment at customer locations. You’ll perform preventive maintenance, installations, and basic customer training, while managing your service vehicle and parts inventory.

We’re looking for someone with mechanical aptitude and experience in electrical, plumbing, or related work. Basic computer skills, strong troubleshooting ability, and excellent customer service are essential. CCTV experience is a plus, and a valid driver’s license is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Receive dispatched service calls as assigned and ensure prompt response based on the estimated time of arrival
Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot/diagnose, and service equipment to factory settings
Maintain inventory and maintenance on company property
Installation & removal of equipment
Document all work performed and close out all activities upon completion
Maintain a professional appearance and follow established safety standards
Consistently present a professional image, both in personal appearance and the condition of company equipment
Professionally communicate with customers of services performed
Cover a service area and help in other areas as needed
Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when needed
Assist with running routes, merchandising market displays when needed

COMPETENCIES

SKILLS:

Mechanical and electronic aptitude
Strong troubleshooting and organizational skills
Strong accuracy and detail-oriented with all reporting
Customer relations, interpersonal relationships, team relations, and be service-oriented
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Must be a self-starter, work with minimal supervision, and be able to accomplish tasks in a timely manner.
Great oral and written communication skills
Willingness to learn about new and emerging equipment & technologies

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Must be at least 21 years of age
Valid driver's license
Clean driving record
Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
Field service tech for more than 3 years or a similar position
Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing various types of vending, coffee, and refreshment equipment
Demonstrated experience working in direct contact with customers on service-related activities
A 2-year technical certification, apprenticeship training program, on-the-job training, and or military equivalent
High School diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license with proof of an excellent driving record

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to lift 75 pounds
Position requires sitting, standing, twisting, reaching, pushing, and pulling
Position requires bending, stooping, kneeling, or squatting on a daily basis. Maybe up to 30% of the day
Position requires driving a company van or a large box truck to and from customer sites
