Responsibilities
- Operate various types of commercial trucks, including front loader, rear loader, roll-off, dump trucks, and flatbeds, ensuring safe and efficient collection of waste and recyclables.
- Load and unload waste materials using front-end loaders or manual methods, maintaining proper handling procedures for hazardous materials regulations.
- Follow assigned routes diligently, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, state transportation laws, and safety protocols.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure compliance with air brake standards and mechanical safety requirements.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating courteously with clients during collection visits and addressing any concerns professionally.
- Maintain accurate logs of daily collections, route completion times, and vehicle maintenance reports.
- Assist with training new team members on safe driving practices, route procedures, and equipment operation.
Skills
- Proven experience operating commercial trucks such as front loader, rear loader, roll-off, dump trucks, or tractor-trailers.
- Strong knowledge of heavy lifting techniques and outdoor work conditions typical in municipal waste management.
- Familiarity with traffic laws, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocol adherence specific to solid waste collection.
- Mechanical knowledge for basic troubleshooting of trucks and related equipment.
- Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles confidently while maintaining safety standards.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with clients.
- Demonstrated defensive driving skills with a clean driving record in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and outdoor work in various weather conditions.

Pay: $17.50 - $20.00 per hour
