Summary
Verify and keep records on outgoing shipments. Prepare items for shipment. Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material; verifying and recording outgoing merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products. Will also need to assist with assembling stamps.
Essential Duties and/or Responsibilities
- Examine contents and compare with records to verify accuracy of outgoing shipment.
- Prepare documents, such as shipping orders to route materials.
- Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes.
- Determine shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
- Pack, seal, label, and affix postage to prepare materials for shipping using postage meter.
- Read and follow specifications and other instructions in order to build and assemble products in an accurate and timely fashion.
- Assemble stamps, ink inkpads, and label packaging.
- Prepare parts for shrink wrapping.
- Confer and correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as nonconformance to specifications.

- Knowledge of shipping methods and procedures.
- The ability to apply such knowledge to practical situations.
- Must be able to operate various office equipment to include a computer, calculator and copier.
- Requires an attention to detail
- Must be able to perform basic math equations.
Experience and Education
Previous shipping, warehouse, or assembly experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills Required:

- Production and Processing - Knowledge of materials, shipping processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective shipping and distribution of goods.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties and responsibilities of this position, the employee is occasionally required to sit and use hands. The incumbent will regularly talk and listen. H/she will frequently stand, walk, handle or touch and move from place to place. Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision, color vision and depth perception. Required to lift up to 25 lbs.
