Position Overview: As a Field Installation Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in our field operations team, responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining equipment at client sites throughout the United States. This role requires expertise in electrical systems, automation technologies, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation of Equipment and Systems:
· Install and assemble industrial machinery, equipment, and systems according to technical specifications and blueprints.
· Perform mechanical and electrical installations as needed.
· Ensure proper calibration, alignment, and functionality of machinery and systems.
Site Preparation:
· Assess the installation site for suitability, ensuring that the area is ready for the new equipment.
· Coordinate with site managers or other departments to prepare and clear the area for installation.
· Verify all necessary tools, materials, and equipment are available before starting the installation process.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
· Identify and troubleshoot any issues during installation or operation of machinery.
· Provide maintenance support during the installation process and offer recommendations for ongoing maintenance once the system is operational.
· Resolve any technical challenges that arise during the installation phase.
Quality Control and Testing:
· Perform quality assurance checks to ensure the installation meets operational and safety standards.
· Run diagnostic tests to confirm proper system functionality and that everything operates as intended.
· Provide detailed reports on the results of testing and troubleshooting activities.
Customer Interaction:
· Communicate with clients or project managers to understand their requirements and ensure that installations align with client expectations.
· Provide training to clients or operators on how to use the installed equipment and systems.
· Offer after-installation support for any troubleshooting or questions from the client.
Safety Compliance:
· Adhere to all safety protocols and industry regulations during installation, including the use of protective gear and equipment.
· Identify and address any potential hazards in the installation area to maintain a safe working environment.
· Ensure compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and other relevant safety standards.
Documentation and Reporting:
· Complete installation reports and documentation, including as-built drawings, machine specifications, and maintenance guidelines.
· Keep accurate records of all installations, repairs, and service calls.
· Document any changes made to original installation plans and communicate them to relevant parties.
Coordination with Other Teams:
· Collaborate with engineers, design teams, and project managers to ensure installations are completed within the specified timeframe and budget.
· Work closely with other technical specialists to ensure all installation phases are carried out efficiently.
Project Management:
· Manage installation schedules and coordinate resources to ensure timely completion.
· Monitor the progress of installations and address any delays or challenges promptly.
· Report on the status of installation projects to supervisors and stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement:
· Stay up to date with industry trends, new technology, and best practices for industrial installations.
· Participate in ongoing training and development to improve technical skills and knowledge.
· Suggest improvements to installation processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

- Project Manager – they’ll oversee the projects you work on
Who You’ll Work With:
- Project Coordinators – they’ll arrange the logistics for each project making sure equipment arrives in the right place at the right time
- Customers – you’ll interface with plant managers and sometime the customer’s corporate project management or corporate engineers
- Contract labor – at times you may supervise contracted workers who do most of the installation
What The First Year Looks Like:
- Month 1 – you’ll onboard, meet the whole team and learn the equipment by working in the test lab and warehouse
- Month 2-4 – you’ll shadow one of our current team members as they go onsite with customers overseeing installations
- Month 5-7 – you’ll start taking on small projects yourself while continuing to shadow a current team member on larger, more complex projects
- Month 8-12 – you’ll be running most projects yourself
Physical Requirements:
- Lift 50lbs regularly, work in a physically demanding role
Qualifications:
Proficiency in Industrial Equipment and Systems:
· In-depth knowledge of industrial machinery, equipment, and automated systems.
· Familiarity with the specific types of machinery being installed, such as conveyor systems, pumps, motors, generators, and control panels.
Mechanical and Electrical Knowledge:
· Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical, as these may be required for installations.
· Ability to troubleshoot and repair machinery, electrical systems, or mechanical components.
Blueprint and Technical Drawing Interpretation:
· Skill in reading and interpreting technical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering specifications to guide the installation process.
Calibration and Testing:
· Experience with calibration tools and the ability to test machinery or systems to ensure they meet operational standards.
Familiarity with Automation and Control Systems:
· Knowledge of automation systems, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), and SCADA systems may be required depending on the industry.
Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting:
· Strong problem-solving skills to quickly identify and resolve issues during the installation process.
Certifications (Optional but Preferred):
OSHA Certification (Occupational Safety and Health Administration):
· Certification in OSHA standards, particularly in industrial safety, is important for ensuring safe installation practices.
Forklift/Scissor Lift Certification:
· Certification for operating heavy machinery like forklifts, cranes, or scissor lifts may be required for installation tasks that involve moving large or heavy equipment.
Electrical Certification:
· An electrical certification (e.g., Journeyman Electrician) may be necessary for roles that involve working with electrical systems or wiring during the installation process.
PLC/Automation Certification (if applicable):
· If the installations involve automation or PLCs, certifications such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or other industry-standard certifications may be beneficial.
Welding or Fabrication Certification (if required):
· Some industrial installation roles, especially in manufacturing or construction, may require welding or fabrication experience, which could be certified.

Experience:
Previous Work Experience in Industrial Settings:
· Experience working in industrial installation, maintenance, or manufacturing environments is often required.
· Prior experience in machine operation, field service, or technical support can also be valuable.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
