We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented OSP Fiber Construction Coordinator to join our team at our Vallejo headquarters. This position is responsible for leading and coordinating Outside Plant (OSP) fiber construction projects from planning through closeout while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
This is an in-office position, and candidates must reside within commuting distance of Vallejo, California.
Job Summary
The OSP Fiber Construction Coordinator will oversee the planning, coordination, scheduling, and execution of fiber optic infrastructure projects throughout California. Working closely with contractors, municipalities, engineers, utility companies, and internal teams, this role will help drive successful project outcomes through strong project management, field coordination, documentation, and communication.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the expansion of high-speed broadband networks while working on municipal, commercial, and grant-funded fiber projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Coordination & Construction Management
- Coordinate OSP fiber and broadband construction projects from initiation through closeout
- Scope projects, develop work plans, and assign tasks to contractors and field crews
- Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, and construction timelines
- Facilitate project coordination meetings and communicate project updates to stakeholders
- Track project performance, identify risks, and implement corrective actions as needed
- Support project closeout, documentation, reporting, and client invoicing
Construction Oversight
- Perform pre-construction and post-construction field walkouts
- Oversee aerial and underground construction activities including boring, trenching, conduit installation, cable placement, splicing, and restoration
- Monitor construction progress, quality, safety compliance, and adherence to project specifications
- Identify and resolve field construction issues in real time
- Ensure compliance with right-of-way (ROW), traffic control, and utility requirements
- Coordinate utility locates and permitting activities
Documentation & Reporting
- Create and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Prepare and issue Notice to Proceed (NTP) documentation
- Verify as-built documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Maintain project records, change orders, schedules, and contractor deliverables
- Generate project status reports, schedule updates, and cost tracking reports
- Support grant-funded broadband reporting and compliance requirements
Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, municipalities, utility companies, and engineering teams
- Review work scopes, contracts, and change orders to ensure compliance with project requirements
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients and project stakeholders
- Ensure timely communication regarding project schedules, issues, and deliverables
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in OSP, telecommunications, broadband, utility, or fiber construction coordination
- Working knowledge of fiber optic and coaxial network systems
- Experience supporting underground and/or aerial utility construction projects
- Familiarity with utility locating laws, permitting processes, and right-of-way requirements
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and project tracking tools
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting multi-state or regional fiber deployments
- Experience with Ocius-X, Knowify, ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, HeavyBid, or similar construction management platforms
- Knowledge of construction estimating, project scheduling, and cost management
- Experience with civil engineering, utility, or telecommunications infrastructure projects
- Experience working with municipalities, public works agencies, or grant-funded broadband projects
- Knowledge of CPUC, CASF, BEAD, or other broadband funding programs

Pay: $33.00 - $38.00 per hour
