Position Results Statement
The Landscape Field Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all landscape construction projects for the Hemlock Landscapes Chagrin Falls Branch of Suncrest. Suncrest acquired Hemlock Landscapes in November of 2024. This position operates out of the Chagrin Falls Office located at 10170 Gottschalk Pkwy, Chagrin Falls, OH 44023. This position provides daily leadership to field crews while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, profitably, and to Hemlock Landscapes' (Suncrest) quality standards. The Landscape Field Supervisor partners closely with the COO/Branch Manager, Sales Team, Crew Leaders, customers, and vendors to achieve production, gross margin, quality, and customer satisfaction goals.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Project Management & Operations
- Direct and oversee the daily activities of all landscape construction crews.
- Manage multiple landscape construction projects simultaneously while maintaining schedules, budgets, quality standards, and customer expectations.
- Conduct pre-construction meetings with Sales, Crew Leaders, and customers to review project scope, timelines, logistics, and expectations.
- Schedule projects, labor, subcontractors, equipment, and materials to maximize efficiency.
- Review landscape plans and specifications to ensure projects are installed according to design.
- Monitor project budgets, production rates, billable hours, and gross margin performance.
- Conduct project quality inspections and ensure work meets standards.
- Participate in post-project reviews to evaluate project profitability and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Assist crews in the field as needed to meet deadlines and customer expectations.
Customer Relations
- Serve as the primary field contact for customers throughout each project.
- Communicate project schedules, progress updates, weather delays, and change orders.
- Conduct project startup and closeout meetings with customers and Sales.
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
- Coordinate warranty work and ensure timely completion.
- Maintain exceptional customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Crew Leaders and field employees.
- Conduct daily crew huddles and regular one-on-one meetings with Crew Leaders.
- Establish goals
- Participate in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, performance management, and employee development.
- Complete performance evaluations and maintain employee documentation.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, and productivity.
- Foster a positive, accountable, team-oriented culture aligned with Hemlock Landscapes Core Values.
- Resolve employee concerns and workplace conflicts professionally.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety.
- Ensure all employees follow company safety policies.
- Conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks.
- Verify proper use of PPE and safe equipment operation.
- Ensure company vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment are properly maintained and inspected.
- Report accidents, incidents, and safety concerns promptly.
- Assist in achieving company goals of zero lost-time accidents and zero preventable vehicle accidents.
Financial & Administrative Responsibilities
- Review and approve employee timesheets for labor accuracy.
- Utilize company software (BOSS and related systems) to record labor, quality audits, production, and project documentation.
- Create purchase orders and coordinate material deliveries.
- Monitor indirect labor and project expenses.
- Assist with budgeting, inventory, and operational planning.
Equipment & Facility Management
- Ensure all company vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment remain in safe operating condition.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance and equipment repairs.
- Monitor equipment inspections and maintenance documentation.
- Assist with opening and closing branch facilities as needed.
- Support snow and ice operations during the winter season, including plowing, salting, and shoveling as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of landscape construction experience.
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory, foreman, or crew leadership experience.
- Strong understanding of landscape construction methods, grading, drainage, plant installation, hardscape installation, and equipment operation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and customer service skills.
- Ability to read landscape plans and construction drawings.
- Proficient in project management software.
- Valid Ohio Driver's License meeting company insurability standards.

- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
