Full Job Description

Structural Engineer – Remote (w/ PE License)

Our Indianapolis-based client is seeking a Structural Engineer with project management experience to join a growing structural engineering team. This position offers the opportunity to lead the design and delivery of diverse building projects while collaborating with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams. Depending on experience, candidates may manage projects, mentor junior staff, and contribute to business growth and client development.

Structural Engineer Qualifications

5–15 years of progressively responsible structural engineering design experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field
Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred
Experience designing building structures utilizing concrete, structural steel, masonry, and wood
Proficiency with Revit; experience with structural analysis software
Strong understanding of applicable building codes and structural design standards
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and meeting project deadlines
Must be able to travel as needed to Indianapolis, Indiana for client or project meetings. Some overnights will be required.

Structural Engineer Responsibilities

Lead structural engineering projects from concept through construction completion.
Develop structural designs and prepare construction documents for commercial, institutional, industrial, and other building projects.
Design gravity and lateral force-resisting systems in accordance with applicable building codes and engineering standards.
Prepare, review, and coordinate structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
Manage project schedules, budgets, staffing, and resource planning.
Coordinate with architects, owners, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Build and maintain strong client relationships while supporting new business opportunities.
Provide technical leadership, quality control, and mentorship to junior engineers and designers, as appropriate.
Support construction administration activities, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and performing site observations when required.
Work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
