MedOp Solutions is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse for a travel assignment at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. This fast-paced Level IV Trauma Center provides care for approximately 64–100 emergency patients daily, treating everything from trauma and cardiac emergencies to strokes, pediatric illnesses, and behavioral health patients. This is an excellent opportunity for an adaptable ED nurse who enjoys caring for a diverse patient population in a collaborative, high-acuity environment.

- 4 hallway treatment areas
- 3 results pending rooms
- 2–3 overflow conference rooms
- Average daily census: 64–80 patients (up to 100 during peak volume)
- First-time travelers accepted with prior EPIC experience
- Adult medical emergencies
- Geriatric patients (25%)
- Pediatric patients (15%)
- Behavioral Health (10%)
- Trauma (falls, MVAs, industrial accidents, GSWs, stabbings)
- STEMI and CHF
- Stroke and neurological emergencies
- Respiratory failure, COPD, RSV
- Mental health emergencies
- General medical emergencies
- Days: 1:4 (may flex to 1:5 during high census)
- Perform comprehensive emergency nursing assessments and interventions
- Manage trauma, stroke, cardiac, respiratory, pediatric, and behavioral health patients
- Perform IV starts, central line management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and emergency interventions
- Assist with chest tube management and critical care stabilization
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, ED technicians, and the interdisciplinary team
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC
- Deliver exceptional patient-centered care in a fast-paced emergency environment
- Active Registered Nurse license
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience
- EPIC experience required for first-time travelers
- Strong experience with trauma, stroke, pediatric, and cardiac patients
- Experience with:
- Chest tubes
- Central line management
- Cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Emergency stabilization
- Required Certifications:
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- PALS
- Preferred Certifications:
- ENPC
- TNCC
- MOAB or CPI (De-escalation Training)
- EMR: EPIC
- Alaris IV Pumps
- Pyxis Medication Dispensing System
- Bedside and central telemetry monitoring
- Emergency Department Technicians
- Charge Nurse
- Respiratory Therapy (24/7)
- Hospitalists (24/7)
- House Supervisor (24/7)
- Surgical Call Team
- Specialized Forensic Team
- Phlebotomy support for difficult blood draws
- Rarely floats outside the ED
- May assist other units with difficult IV starts or helping hands
- Will not receive a patient assignment outside the Emergency Department

- Hospital orientation

- Days 2–3:
- Department orientation with preceptor (based on experience and comfort level)
- Available shifts:
- Days: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
- Swing: 10:45 AM – 11:15 PM
- Nights: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Holiday requirement: Availability for two holidays per contract
- Schedule posted in four-week increments
- Up to seven days of requested time off may be approved
- Professional scrubs of any solid color permitted
