Thor International is seeking energetic, outgoing, personable candidates for a Technical Advisor position for the Thor technical support dept. The new TECHNICAL ADVISOR (TA) will be assisting in helping and advising in home repair technicians on trouble shooting / diagnostics and repair procedures of Thor kitchen products across the entire platform line of products. Applicant must be able to read and interpret wire schematic, part catalogs and diagrams. Other duties would in tale inner dept cooperation working with Customer service, sales dept and the parts dept to answer questions that are beyond that depts scope and ability.
You will report to Product Quality and Engineering dept. (Q&E) and work hand in hand with colleagues across disciplines on a wide variety of innovative projects. Our focus is creating the best user experience and offering the best value possible for our customers.
Technical Advisor Requirements
· Communicate with cross functional departments and support administrative tasks
· Be able read and interpret wiring schematic and clearly communicate how and where to make electrical checks to trouble shoot and resolve issues.
· Be able to send and receive emails, SMS and answer trouble shooting questions, attach files and send service providers needed information.
· Basic computer skill is required, Email, data input, ability to access cloud-based system and to operate a VOIP phone line.
· An understanding of service and repair procedures for full line of appliances, Gas Ranges, Electric ranges, Wall ovens, Hood systems, Dishwasher, Microwaves, Wine coolers, Ice Machines and Full size and compact refrigeration products.
Required skills/Abilities
· Formal tech school training in Appliances or HVAC with certification.
· Min 3 years of on-the-job experience working for an appliance manufacture as a service technician.
· 3+ years of installation experience preferred (not required)
· Have strong communication and organizational skills, initiative and follow-up skills
· Able to handle multiple projects
· Basic skills set in Excel
· Knowledge of Word, Microsoft Outlook and PowerPoint.
· Be able to identify product quality issues from the field and clearly put this information in a report format with photos and data backing, be able to present this information to Q&E for follow up.
· Travel will be required for onboarding and initial training for this position.
