Job Description - Technical Sales Engineer –
Overall Responsibility.
Responsible for technical sales and engineering support for the TMSI’s product line of tire and rubber testing and manufacturing equipment to our existing and new customers in the Americas region.
The focus will be on sales of all TSMI products and service, but also will involve plant automation solutions developed by Kingerobot, a TMSI affiliated company.
The position will be located on site at the TMSI office in the Greater Akron Ohio area.
Specific Tasks.
1) To maintain close contact with tire and rubber customers at all levels namely corporate, technical centers, and at the plant level as required to achieve sales.
2) To initiate inquiries with existing and potential customers and follow through by providing technical and commercial information, quotations, and the receipt and placement of purchase orders.
3) To clearly understand the customers technical and engineering requirements and assist them with technical solutions; or to create new solutions with help from our engineering and development product groups in both the USA and Asia.
4) Travel and visits to customer’s facilities will be necessary to sustain relationships with key accounts by making periodic visits; exploring specific needs; and anticipating new opportunities.
5) Completing market research to stay on top of the key trends in the market and take appropriate action
6) Facilitate the effective communication between the customer, sales, and engineering personnel in order to provide excellent service to customers in terms of technical and commercial content.
7) Maintain personal presentation at the highest standards at all times to project a professional image to clients.
8) Make technical presentations about TMSI products to customer personnel at all levels
9) Attend networking events, trade exhibitions, and promotional events to gather market information
10) Monitor customer satisfaction and implementing procedures and activities to compile client feedback and promote the brand and brand value.
Experience /Qualifications
1. Educational requirements include bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience/knowledge in area of Technical Sales and/or marketing. Preference will be given to individuals with an Engineering degree.
2. Engineering and technical experience in the manufacturing operations in the Tire, Automotive or Rubber Industry.
3. Knowledge and understanding of the North American Tire Industry
4. Must have knowledge of Microsoft Windows and the Windows API.
5. Willing to travel domestically and overseas
6. Ability to understand and interpret customer requirements and to be able to describe and define such requirements to the appropriate development and product teams
7. Ability to make Engineering/Technical presentations
8. Good negotiating skills.
9. Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to execute projects on time.
10. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
11. Works well independently with minimal supervision, and ability to work well in a small team setting.
12. Knowledge of basic Newtonian physics.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
