Total Network Solutions (TNS) is a rapidly growing Managed IT and Cybersecurity Services Provider supporting businesses throughout Southern California and across the United States.
Our clients rely on us to design, secure, and support the technology that keeps their businesses running. We are looking for a Systems Engineer who enjoys solving difficult technical problems, working directly with clients, and continuously learning new technologies.

About the Role
This is not an internal IT position.
You'll support multiple client environments across a wide variety of industries, designing, implementing, and supporting modern Microsoft, virtualization, networking, and cybersecurity solutions.
This position is approximately:
- 2–3 days working from our Long Beach office
- 2–3 days visiting client locations throughout Southern California
Candidates must currently live within approximately 30 minutes of Long Beach, CA.
What You'll Do
As one of our engineers, you'll serve as a technical lead responsible for both reactive support and proactive engineering.
Responsibilities include:
- Design, implement and support Microsoft 365 environments
- Administer Microsoft Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive
- Deploy and manage Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Defender
- Configure Microsoft Purview policies and data protection solutions
- Design and administer Windows Server environments
- Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP administration
- Deploy and support VMware and Hyper-V virtualization platforms
- Configure and troubleshoot business-class networking equipment including:
- Fortinet
- Meraki
- Ubiquiti
- SonicWall
- Configure VPNs, VLANs, switching and wireless infrastructure
- Lead server migrations, Microsoft 365 migrations and infrastructure upgrades
- Support backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Troubleshoot complex performance, networking and security issues
- Utilize RMM and PSA platforms to manage client environments
- Develop PowerShell automation to improve operational efficiency
- Create accurate technical documentation
- Mentor junior engineers
- Participate in after-hours maintenance windows as required
Cybersecurity Experience
Cybersecurity is a core part of every client engagement.
You should have experience working with technologies such as:
- Microsoft Defender for Business / Defender for Endpoint
- Huntress
- SentinelOne
- MDR/XDR platforms
- Email security solutions
- Multi-factor authentication
- Conditional Access
- Vulnerability remediation
- Security awareness best practices
- Basic incident response
Experience with Microsoft Sentinel or other SIEM platforms is a plus.
Required Qualifications
We are looking for someone with:
- 5+ years of Systems Engineering experience
- 3+ years working for a Managed Service Provider (MSP) or IT consulting firm
- Strong Microsoft 365 administration experience
- Deep knowledge of:
- Windows Server
- Active Directory
- Microsoft Entra ID
- Intune
- Microsoft Defender
- Microsoft Purview
- Strong networking knowledge
- VMware and/or Hyper-V administration
- Experience supporting Windows 10/11 and macOS
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Excellent written documentation skills
- Excellent customer communication skills
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
