Location: Tampa, Florida

Reports To: Executive Director, Brain Health

Job Type: PRN (As Needed)

About Us

The Performance Lab (TPL) is a multi-disciplinary medical practice dedicated to the rehabilitation of patients recovering from musculoskeletal (MSK) and brain injuries. With a team of experienced Medical Directors specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Sports Medicine, Interventional Pain, Neurology, and Traumatic Brain Injury. TPL offers comprehensive, hospital-level care in a convenient outpatient setting, by integrating a wide range of services under one roof. The Performance Lab ensures personalized, continuous support throughout each patient’s recovery journey.

Position Overview

The PRN Vision Therapist provides vision rehabilitation services to patients experiencing visual deficits related to traumatic brain injuries, concussions, neurological disorders, and developmental visual dysfunctions. The Vision Therapist collaborates with optometrists, ophthalmologists, neurologists, and rehabilitation professionals to improve visual performance, ocular motor function, visual processing, and overall quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct assessments of visual function, tracking, convergence, accommodation, visual processing, and ocular motor skills.
Implement individualized vision therapy treatment plans prescribed by the supervising provider.
Provide therapeutic exercises and activities designed to improve visual performance and functional abilities.
Monitor patient progress and adjust therapy programs as appropriate.
Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and treatment goals.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support comprehensive rehabilitation plans.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and treatment records.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, ethical, and organizational standards.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Vision Science, Psychology, Kinesiology, Rehabilitation Science, Occupational Therapy, or related healthcare field required.
Certification in Vision Therapy.
Vestibular rehabilitation training required.
COVT (Certified Optometric Vision Therapist) preferred.
Current CPR/BLS Certification.

Key Competencies:

Knowledge of visual rehabilitation and neuro-optometric rehabilitation principles.
Strong patient coaching and education skills.
Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting.
Commitment to evidence-based patient care.
