POSITION SUMMARY:This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. You will help connect our community to the Y’s mission by planning, creating, and publishing engaging content across social media platforms. You’ll support marketing campaigns, tell compelling stories through photos and video, and collaborate with staff to promote programs, events, and initiatives. This role focuses primarily on social media and content creation, with additional support for internal marketing and general marketing administration. As a key member of our marketing team, the Marketing Assistant will help drive positive change by connecting the community to our purpose - building the most hopeful, happiest, and healthiest version of each person we serve.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure consistency of messaging, voice, and brand throughout all communication channels.
- Capture and curate photos and videos of Y programs, events, and members.
- Write engaging captions and short-form copy tailored to each platform.
- Work with staff to collect member stories, testimonials, and program highlights.
- help plan and execute campaigns that support programming, fundraising, and community engagement.
- Help gather and organize marketing content including photos, videos, stories, etc.
- Look for new and creative ways to help tell the Williams County YMCA story.
- Monitor engagement and respond to basic inquiries, and flag items for follow-up when needed.Identify emerging trends that support marketing efforts and encourage organizational longevity.
- Help design or update facility signage, posters, and flyers for programs and events.
- Manage paid advertising on social media (Meta, Google, etc).
- Ability to monitor and update website content (Wordpress, The Church Co)
- utilize current web platforms and their use and/or development (email, text, AI, automation, etc)
- Track performance metrics and assist in collecting / interpreting data that drives results.
- All other duties assigned

- Develop content that supports strategic priorities like community health initiatives, youth development, and rural outreach.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to create campaigns that address community needs, reduce barriers to participation, and highlight impact in outlying communities.
- Support storytelling that elevates voices from underserved groups and celebrates local partnerships that align with our values of equity, adaptability, and collaboration.
- Create engaging digital content that promotes chronic disease prevention, mental health awareness, and community wellness efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum age of 18
- Child abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date
- portfolio demonstrating proficiency in graphic and marketing skills
- Excellent computer and graphic design skills
- Experience creating social media content, print publications, & digital communications
- Experience capturing and editing photos and video in various settings for publication
- Proficiency in creative tools (design software, video editing, web platforms)
- Proficiency in analytical tools and understanding of data to stimulate membership growth.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- strong design sense and knack for storytelling
- Flexibility, positivity, and the ability to adapt and be proactive
- Ability to work independently and with others in a team-oriented environment
